Vít Malota was born in Zlín, grew up in Strakonice. He studied directing at the DAMU in Prague. He regularly contributes to literary magazines such as Host, Tvar and Souvislosti. As a director, he cooperates, among others, with Czech Radio and the theatre association Zkouška Sirén. He is an instructor and juror of recitation and poetry theatres. He is a laureate of the František Halas Literary Prize for 2020. He has published a collection of poetry, Bez obrázků navíc. He lives in Prague.
