JURIJ NIKELSKY (UA) & OBELISK OF LIGHT
A unique musical project by a Ukrainian multi-instrumentalist and a Czech musical experimenter.
Yuriy Nikelsky from Ukraine is active on the Czech improvisational and free jazz scene. In a collaborative project with Jan Kašpar, he uses a wide range of ethnic wind instruments, including the Armenian duduk and the Japanese shakuhachi flute. Jan Kašpar performs under the pseudonym Obelisk of Light. He experiments with guitar sounds and deconstructed electronics. In their free improvisations, they blend the sounds of traditional instruments with ambient layers.
